Hey Everybody,
I want to thank all of my fans and listeners for your support and being so concerned about me being put off of The Tom Joyner Morning Show yesterday. It was simply a misunderstanding between "boss and employee". Isn't it kinda funny that when you work with someone for such a long time, you tend to get real "comfortable" with your language...sometimes you get a little "too comfortable". Tom and I have worked together for the past thirteen years. Keep in mind that I was already 43 years old when I began working on Tom's show. There's not too many jobs like this you can get at 43. Out of all of my career choices, working on the Tom Joyner Morning Show has been one of the longest commitments I've had and officially one of the best jobs I've ever had.
Let's clear the air. It was not my intention to be disrespectful. I just wanted the opportunity to get my point across. However, I was told to "..shut up or go home." For the record, Tom NEVER said, "shut up and go home --you're fired. "He just said, "shut up...or go home...", and I did so promptly. Now, I heard the phrase, "you're fired, go home" many times before, but its not the same as, "shut up or go home. "It's safe to say that these two statements are completely different. I wasn't mad, I was surprised. Not because I was told to, "shut up or...go home." I've been married three times and I'm no stranger to that phrase, lol. It's the "shut up..." part that got to me.
Q: How do you tell a "grown-ass-man" to Shut up?!
A: You cut him a big check.
Here is what I did immediately following the on-air debacle:
1.) I GOT IN MY CAR.
2.) I CALLED JESUS.
3.) I DROVE HOME.
4.) HAD A TALK WITH MY HERBAL BUDDY. (I WAS SO RELAXED, I LOOKED AT MY WATCH AND THOUGHT I WAS LATE FOR WORK.)
5.) ME AND MY HERBAL BUDDY DECIDED TO MAKE THE BEST OF THE DAY.
6.) AFTER I TALKED TO JESUS AND MY HERBAL BUDDY, I MADE A LIST OF THINGS TO DO DURING MY UNPLANNED OFF DAY.
7.) I PUT GAS IN MY CAR.
8.) I WENT TO THE MOVIES
9.) I CHECKED MY TEXT MESSAGES TO SEE HOW MANY FRIENDS I HAD.
10.) I CHECKED MY BANK ACCOUNT TO SEE HOW MANY FRIENDS I HAD.
People consider these two things: A) I like my job. B) Gas is $5.00 a gallon. I'm not an idiot.

I feel ya J. I'm glad you wrote a blog for all of your fans. We were all so mad...I'm a 30 year old female and called and told my mama and my daddy what happened...got them all pissed off too! For the first time on a Monday, I turned the station when I realized you weren't coming back (I usually do that on Tuesdays & Thursdays at 8:15AM - if you know what I mean) We all love you! Keep being you!

It's all good. You and Tom are grown men and if you are really friends. You ought to be able to pull each others coatails when needed.
J. Anthony came to my club in Jackson Ms (Jazzy's)He was the most personable and approachable entertainer to every one who he came in contact with. He sat right out with the the rest of the patrons and didn't turn any one away who wanted to talk with him.
He's a good brother who's well grounded. Keep pushing the positive to both you and Tom.
I am happy that you guys got every thing worked out. You all make a great team, and I would hate to see any of you leave. There is not one particular person that I tune in to hear; I tune in to hear you all as a team because you all seem to feed off of each other's "craziness". Keep up the good work and know that you all are loved Tracy
A day late and almost a dollar short! I know you probably wont even see this this late. But consider I just saw your blog about what was going on. However, it's my two cents. And it's simple. Words are way to often like bullets leaving a gun at a fast pace. Once said, just can't get them back! But the good thing about it is, teeth and gum fall out sometimes, but the teeth can always be washed off and put back in! Enjoy the show.
Hey J I was listening to the show this morning about the cabbage and collard greens. Yall need to be careful eating all that PORK GREASE cause it does nothing but add more fat and colesterol to the body, and lord knows you don't need that. I does nothing to help your diabetes.
